Translate a Word Document
Upload a DOCX file, choose a language, and download a translated Word file with its structure retained. See the credit cost before starting.
Download a translated DOCX with editable paragraphs and tables. Your last chosen target language is remembered when you return.
How to translate your file
- 1
Upload your Word file
Start with the original DOCX when you have it. Native paragraphs and tables give the translator document structure to work with; exporting to PDF first is unnecessary.
- 2
Choose the target language
Select English, Spanish or another target in the language picker, then review the credit quote before starting.
- 3
Continue working in Word
Download the translated DOCX and open it in your document editor to revise the wording and finish the layout.
What stays editable in a translated DOCX?
The translator writes translated text into the Word document rather than turning every page into a picture. Ordinary paragraphs, headings, lists and table text remain native text that you can select and edit in Word. The existing document structure is retained where the format supports it.
Text inside an embedded picture is different. A photographed notice, screenshot or diagram may be translated by replacing its image. Its translated words remain image content, so they are not editable like a Word paragraph. Use the original text-based document when you need to revise those words later.
The uploader's public gallery includes a synthetic Spanish court filing created as a Word document. Open the before-and-after pair to compare its heading, table and footer.
Review formatting after translation
A translation can take more space than its source. A short English heading may wrap in German, and a change of script may need a different font. Keeping the document structure does not guarantee identical line breaks or the same number of pages.
Compare tables and the pages around explicit page breaks in your editor. This is also a useful moment to verify names, numbers and specialized terminology against the original.
Translate Word documents to English or Spanish
For a foreign-language report, choose English as the output language before requesting the quote. For an English document you want to share in Spanish, choose Spanish. The target-language picker remains available for other languages.
A translated DOCX lets you read correspondence, study research and manuals, adapt a report for colleagues or revise a draft in Word. For an official submission, check the recipient's requirements: an AI-generated file is not a certified translation.
Word Document Translator: common questions
- Can I translate a whole Word document?
- Yes. Upload the DOCX and choose the target language. The uploader checks the file and shows its credit cost before translation. Available capacity depends on your account and the file.
- Are headers, footers and footnotes translated?
- The document reader includes ordinary section headers and footers, footnotes and endnotes. Special first-page or even-page headers, fields and unusual objects need a separate check in Word.
- Can I upload an older .doc file?
- The uploader accepts legacy DOC files and converts them to DOCX for the translated-file workflow. Conversion may change formatting or unsupported objects. Use the original DOCX if one is available and review converted files carefully.
- Is Word document translation free?
- You can use available free credits when they cover the quoted work. Check your balance and the quote before starting; larger files may need more credits than your free balance.
